Merino Wool
Merino wool is a special form of new wool and comes from merino sheep, which are mainly native to New Zealand, Australia, Argentina and South Africa. The term 'new wool' is generally understood to mean any type of wool from sheep. The fiber is very soft, highly crimped, elastic and scaly. Merino wool therefore has numerous advantages:
- It is not itchy, as the fibers are half as thick as those of ordinary new wool
- t is one of the most breathable fibers of all, which is why there is no uncomfortable feeling on the skin when it rains and your clothes get wet
- Merino wool actively adapts to changes in temperature. It keeps you warm when it's cold and cools you down when it's warm
- Like normal new wool, merino wool is odour-neutralizing. This is why it rarely needs to be washed - it is often enough to air merino clothing outside
- Merino wool absorbs UV radiation and offers natural protection of up to SPF 50
- Merino wool is 100% natural, renewable and biodegradable
