The terms Lyocell and TENCEL™ refer to the same material. TENCEL™ is the brand name of the Austrian company Lenzing AG. Lyocell, on the other hand, refers to the fiber. The basic building block of the material is wood from sustainable forestry. Natural cellulose is first produced from this and then artificially processed. The material is biodegradable and represents a good, sustainable alternative to cotton or other chemical fibers.
