Cupro
Cupro is a hybrid fiber made from a waste product of cotton production. It has a natural base, which is then chemically treated. Due to the smooth surface and round fiber cross-section, Cupro has a very soft and flowing feel that is reminiscent of silk - only on a plant-based chemical basis instead of an animal one. The final product is characterized by the following properties:
- Cupro has a smooth and cool surface and is therefore very comfortable to wear
- It is a light, flowing, silk-like fabric
- Compared to conventional silk, Cupro has a high tear resistance
On our website, Cupro is always referred to as Cupro Bemberg™. The world's leading and only manufacturer from Japan (Asahi Kassel) sells Cupro under the name Bemberg. Asahi Kasei claims to have developed a process that takes environmental needs into account in the production process. The active ingredients are almost completely recovered through closed water cycles. The "Bemberg silk" is Oeko-Tex certified and biodegradable.
