About

The brand by Aylin Koenig was founded in 2018 by Aylin Freund together with her husband Tobias Freund.
The name Koenig is a stage name and the maiden name of Aylin's mother.

Our focus is on natural materials and high quality. Whenever possible, we opt for sustainable options - for example by using recycled cashmere, recycled cotton, Lyocell and Eco Vero Viscose. Since 2019, we have been producing our knitted and woven items in Italy, and all the yarns we use are Italian yarns. The majority of our fabrics also come from Italy or another European country.

Since the AW 2021 collection, we have been offering a sustainable leather collection that is produced by a certified premium leather supplier in Turkey. With the launch of the SS 2022 collection, we have expanded our product groups to include jersey produced in Portugal.

In summer 2021, we opened our first store at Alter 12 in Hamburg. The magnificent old building façade in the heart of Hamburg, just beside the Town Hall, combined with natural interior elements and the timeless designs of our collections, created a space designed to offer a unique shopping experience. After five years, our store closed its doors on May 30, 2026. At the same time, a new chapter begins: in late summer 2026, we will open our new store in Hamburg-Eppendorf.
