She works on sustainable practices to reduce the environmental impact of leather production. The members are regularly checked by independent auditors. Our leather supplier is a member of the Leather Working Group and was awarded the highest rating of "Gold" in its last audit due to its high standard. To convince ourselves of this personally, we visited the tannery in Turkey with our production team. The leather we use is certified according to high environmental standards, its origin is traceable and a verifiable waste product of the food industry. It is also chrome-free tanned, meaning it has been treated with vegetable and synthetic materials to give it a soft, supple finish and make it durable. Although this procedure is significantly more expensive than conventional chrome tanning, it is also significantly more environmentally friendly.
