The terms Lyocell and TENCEL™ refer to the same material. TENCEL™ is the brand name of the Austrian company Lenzing AG. Lyocell, on the other hand, is the name of the fiber. The basic building block of the material is wood from sustainable forestry. Natural cellulose is first produced from this wood and then processed artificially. The fabric is biodegradable and represents a good, sustainable alternative to cotton or other man-made fibers.
