Cupro

Cupro is a hybrid fiber made from a waste product of cotton production. It therefore has a natural base, which is then chemically finished. Thanks to its smooth surface and round fiber cross-section, Cupro has a very soft and flowing feel that is reminiscent of silk - only on a vegetable-chemical instead of animal basis. The final product is characterized by the following properties:

  • Cupro has a smooth and cool surface and is therefore very comfortable to wear
  • It is a light, flowing, silk-like fabric
  • Compared to conventional silk, Cupro has a high tear resistance

On our website you will always find Cupro as Cupro Bemberg™. Cupro is marketed under the name Bemberg by the world's leading and only manufacturer from Japan (Asahi Kassel). According to Asahi Kasei, it has developed a process that takes the needs of the environment into account in the production process. The active ingredients are almost completely recovered through closed water cycles. The "Bemberg silk" is Oeko-Tex certified and biodegradable.
