Alpaca

Alpaca wool is considered one of the finest and most expensive types of wool. This is mainly due to its light shine, silky-soft structure and pleasant wearing comfort. As the name suggests, it comes from alpacas. It is particularly popular because of its fine fibers, which lie lightly and loosely on the skin. In addition to its pleasant wearing comfort, alpaca wool scores points for other properties that underline its exclusive character:

  • Alpaca wool is known to be particularly resistant and durable and therefore long-lasting
  • The fibers of alpaca wool are hollow inside and therefore have excellent heat retention properties. Especially at low temperatures, alpaca wool stores body heat better than any other wool
  • Alpaca wool is very odor-neutralizing. Often, airing it out is enough instead of washing it
  • It is extremely soft and comfortable to wear
